A short company history

Peheja BV was founded in 1977 by Piet de Groot and Nico Kienjet. It appeared that there was a need for a more flexible and cheaper dual control system than the already existing ones. This led to a patented cable-based dual control system with multiple advantages, which are explained on a separate page.

Expertise grew rapidly and together with a increasing professionalisation of driving schools and related institutes, the company build a name in the Netherlands and even over the borders. The company moved from Heusden to Waalwijk in 1984. This is the location where Peter Claassen, the current general director of Peheja BV, began his career as a mechanic in dual control systems.

Several circumstances gave rise to, after manufacturing and installing dual controls for 7 years, the foundation of a new company by Peter Claassen and his wife Els. This company is called Peter Claassen Dubbele Bedieningen (which means ‘dual controls’ in dutch). The firm is an excellent equipped installation centre, where we can provide upto 12 cars with a dual control each day. Many of our customers are willing to drive 200 km to have their car installed by us. For us, this proves our quality and commitment.

So, over the years, Peheja BV became a market leader in manufacturing and selling the patented dual control system, and a few years later, Peter Claassen became a market leader in the installation of the system. This went on until the year 2000, in which Peter en Els Claassen bought Peheja BV. The fact that the two companies are under one roof now, has led to an even closer connection between manufacturing the hardware, and applying it. It’s obvious to realise that this leads to the best quality check imaginable and to further product improvement.

The two companies, which in fact function as one, have grown extensively over the past six years. So, where Peter Claassen began installing dual controls on his own, there are now 12 employees, besides Peter as managing director and Els, who is responsible for planning,administration and public relations in the Netherlands. This enthusiastic team stands for experience, competence and commitment towards the product and its users, with whom we have long term relations. Continious monitoring and feedback between manufacturing and installing the dual controls takes care for a high quality, relatively easy-to-install, longlasting and re-usable product. Furthermore sharp prices are very important in a time where costs are often decisive in company policies. Examining the international market is also obvious for us, because of the flexibility of our system: it can be installed in every type of car, coach and truck, left hand drive as well as right hand drive.
